متن کاملSeeing Red: Alien species along the Mediterranean coast of Israel
An overview is presented of the metazoan alien biota recorded from the Mediterranean coast of Israel. Of the 296 alien species, 284 have been introduced from the Red Sea/Indo West-Pacific through the Suez Canal. A brief history of the research on introduced species along the Israeli coast is presented along with the list of species, and their ecological and economic impacts are discussed.
متن کاملPlant distribution-altitude and landform relationships in karstic sinkholes of Mediterranean region of Turkey.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between the plant distribution and the altitude-shape-size characteristics of sinkholes, and the landform characteristics inside sinkholes in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. Block kriging, Factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and Detrended Correspondence Analysis were performed. The sinkhole type and altitudinal zone were found to ...

متن کاملBacterial Diversity in Submarine Groundwater along the Coasts of the Yellow Sea
Submarine groundwater (SGD) is one of the most significant pathways for the exchange of groundwater and/or source of nutrients, metals and carbon to the ocean, subsequently cause deleterious impacts on the coastal ecosystems. Microorganisms have been recognized as the important participators in the biogeochemical processes in the SGD. In this study, by utilizing 16S rRNA-based Illumina Miseq se...
